ADULT/TEEN

It’s Summer Reading time again! Our theme this year is “Reading Colors Your World!” The program runs from June 1st to July 31st. You don’t need a River Grove Library card to participate. The Adult/Teen program is geared for ages 12 and up. For every book you finish, you will earn a raffle ticket for one of four of this year’s grand prizes. We encourage participants to track their progress through Reader Zone, an online app that awards you badges and reminds you to fill out your raffle ticket form.

How it Works

Register online through the Summer Reading event page, the Reader Zone website or downloaded app using the code 6c62e, in person at the Circulation Desk, or call the Library at 708-453-4484. After you register, stop in at the Library to pick up your sign up prize (your choice of either a free scoop of Culver’s custard token OR a free parking pass to the Chicago Botanic Gardens; only ONE prize per participant). Paper reading logs are also available on request at the Circulation/Front Desk.

Read or listen to three books per log/per Reader Zone award level and record them on the reading log/using the Reader Zone app.

Earn a grand prize raffle entry slip for each book completed. There will be four grand prize winners and numerous runner-up prize winners. If you don’t win a grand prize, you may still win a runner-up prize, such as a coffee mug, a bag, a small electronic device, or coffee beans!

You may read as many books as you like! But entry slips are capped at 30.

What About My Raffle Tickets?

This year, we have four grand prize raffle lots. When you complete a book, either using a log or the Reader Zone app, you can fill out an online form to add your raffle ticket to a specific raffle lot box. Make sure to fill out the form entirely to have your ticket entered into the correct raffle for the box you want. Winning tickets will be drawn Monday, August 2nd.

The Prizes

Runner-up prizes include: Reading Colors Your World coffee mug, a water-proof tote bag, a power bank portable battery, a small bluetooth speaker, or a bag of coffee beans!

Do I Need a River Grove Library Card to Join?
Nope! We welcome anyone and everyone to participate in the adult/teen reading program but we do recommend that if you participate in the prize raffle, you are within a reasonable distance of the Library to pick up your prize if you win. The Library will NOT ship the prize to you.

What is Reader Zone?

Reader Zone is a web-based reading program and app you can use to log the books and audiobooks you’ve read to earn fun badges and raffle slip tickets for prizes.  It’s free and easy to join! Download the app from your smartphone’s app store or log in online, type in the code 6c62e when prompted, and you will automatically join the River Grove Library’s Summer Reading Program!
